Look At What I Won...

I was lucky enough to be the winner of last week's "Great Finds" contest.

The prize was sponsored by Kandio Designs on Etsy.  They also have an Artfire shop:  Cap It.  I had my pick of necklaces from either shop.

Isn't the one that I picked awesome???  I had my eye on these types of necklaces, last holiday season, but never bought one for myself.  I'm sooo happy that I actually won one!

Thanks Kandio!!!

On Pens and Needles

Husband and wife team, Don and Jan, own the "On Pens and Needles" Artfire shop after Don retired from the military and Jan retired from nursing.

They combined Don's love of woodworking and Jan's love of sewing. There are pens, blankies, jewelry, toys and so much more to see in their shop!

The newest listing in the shop are paper dolls. How great is this:

Positively Charming Things

Niki owns the "Positvely Charming Things" shop on Artfire.

Niki creates bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. She also has an assortment of holiday polymer clay beads in her shop. The snowgirl bead is just too cute!

With a full time job, a long commute, and a busy home life, Niki doesn't have the time to create the detailed dragons and other items that she loves.

So, what are you still here? Hop over to Niki's shop and see more of her goodies!

Amazing Undiscovered Studios ~ Feb. Winner Is...

The "MV" jewelry shop, on Artfire, has a contest every month that gives new/unknown shops some much needed promotional exposure.  The only requirement:  participating shops have to have -0- sales to enter the contest.

MV and I are kindred spirits...we both have the firm belief in promoting those shops that need the help and extra exposure.  Many shop owners don't have much experience/time to devote to networking online.

I have agreed to help MV, in her endeavors, and will blog about the winner of each month's, "Amazing Undiscovered Studios", contest.  You can see numerous wonderful shops and vote for your fav on MV's blog.

Anyhoo...February's winner is:  Andee Designs.

Andee Designs is a great jewelry shop that specializes in custom jewelry and accesories (for women AND men).  Lisa and Blanca are the co-owners of the shop.  They live in Panama and ship internationally.  They discovered that by taking the first intial, in age order, of their children's name, it made a very cute name:  Andee.

Lisa and Blanca's take, one of your pics, and can add it a variety of items.  Necklaces, charm bracelets, key chains, purse holders, business card cases, wineglass charms and so much more!

They are currently offering a BOGO 50 sale.  That's buy-one item at full price and get a 2nd item at 50% off.  This sale is on select categories and items in the shop.  Each qualifying item will have a BOGO tag on the picture.  Use coupon code:  BOGO50 at time of checkout to get the discount.

So, go by and visit BOTH of these wonderfull shops!!!  Peruse MV's blog and see all of the shops that are posted (that are posted each and every month).

Let's support America and buy handmade!!!

Look At Our Snow!!!

Wow...I originally planned on my post being about my stockings that I made for my family (a couple of Xmas' ago), but first I had to share my pics of the 2nd storm of the year.  This is crazy weather for us!  Bad enough to have one storm (last week with 7 inches of snow) but to have another one so close behind it is unbelievable!  We have about an inch now but we're not expected to have as much as last week.

Now on to my Xmas stockings...there are 6 of us, so these stockings were perfect.  I also wanted some new ones that showed my love of all things primitive.

These stockings are VERY roomy and are machine-pieced.  All the wool appliques, and stitching, were hand-pieced onto black flannel.  These stockings were a labor of love and I'm (still) really proud of them.

Each stocking measures approximately 11" (from tip of toe to the heel) and 20" (from the top to the lowest point of the toe).  They were with homespun plaids.

What do you think?  I was considering listing them for sale (made to order), in my Artfire shop.  You can click on each pic, to see a closer look at them.

Though due to the length of time that it took, to sew the appliques and stitching by hand, I'm figuring that I would have to list them for $50 each.  I don't know that anyone would be interested in spending that much money, no matter how CUTE they are.

Watches by Helen

Helen owns the self-named, "Watches by Helen", speciality jewelry shop on Artfire.  She has 75+ watches and 50+ earrings for sale!  You'll be amazed by the colors and styles available.  I had a very difficult time choosing my favs to share with you.  I even went for 5 pics instead of my usual 4!

Your watch can be custom fitted for you.  Measure your wrist with a flexible, soft measuring tape (a dressmaker's tape would be perfect).  Include the measurement with your order.

Many of the watches have coordinating earrings available for sale.  How cool is that?  Helen might want to start adding matching necklaces and you'd be set!  (Hint, hint, Helen...LOL)

You can find Helen on Twitter and on Facebook.  She also has a great blog:  Watches by Helen , I strongly recommend that you take a few minutes of your time and hop on over to her blog.

Tres Chic Designs

Sharon owns the "Tres Chic Designs" jewelry shop on Artfire.  She sells bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and matching sets.

Sharon is a very sweet person and has spent most of her time (since she opened her shop) promoting other handmade shops.  Such a wonderful thing to do but, unfortunately, she hasn't promoted herself and is still waiting for her first sale on Artfire.  :o(

Sharon continues to take jewelry classes to learn new techniques, meet fellow crafters, and for inspiration.  Sharon offers lay-a-ways and multiple payments as an option if you find something that you just HAVE to have but can't pay for it all at once.  What a wonderful idea!  Sharon understands how things are in this economy and is flexible with the payments and will work something out with you.

She LOVES a challenge, so if you want a particular piece of jewelry and can't find it in her shop just contact her and she'll make it for you.  :o)

So, stop by Tres Chic Designs and be her first sale!!!  Psst...check out the goodies listed in the "One of a Kind Jewelry" section!

Wow! Look At The Award That I Received...

Luisa, Lu for short, owner of the amazing Crocheted Little Things shop, on Artfire, gave me the Sunshine (blog) Award!

Lu makes crocheted cupcakes; that look so real, that you just want to take a taste of the "frosting"!  Stop by her shop and judge for yourself!!!

In order to accept this award, I have to do the following:

~  Put the logo on your blog or within your post ~  (I have it pictured here and in a permanent spot near the end of my blog with other awards that were given to me.)

- Pass the award onto 12 bloggers. (My list of wonderful blogs, with working links, is listed a little bit past this section)

- Link the nominees within your post.

- Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog.

- Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award (Which I mentioned Luisa and her wondeful shop!)

So, now I have the very difficult task of scouring and picking 12 blogs out of all the wonderful blogs that I follow.  Not an easy feat, let me tell you!!!  But I've taken on the challenge and here are my list of blogs that I'm passing the award on to:
